"Life asks for passage, love demands passage, it is imperative to stop the butcher of Moscow", a poem by Antônio Carlos dos Santos

Guernica, Picasso, 1937.

It is imperative to stop the butcher of Moscow

The plague of malignant cancer advances over the world

The warlord opened Pandora's box

Behold the devil at the head of his legions

The sovereign of smallpox and measles, rubella and malaria, meningitis and tuberculosis, cysticercosis and toxoplasmosis, hantavirus and AIDS, typhus and cancer, the black plague and SARS is on the march, H1N1 and Ebola, Dengue and COVID

The warlord has sharpened his murderous fangs

Hold high the banner of cholera, the banner of fury, the pavilion of terror

And on Ukraine drops cluster bombs

The shrapnel that shames humanity

And on Ukraine drops thermobaric bombs

The massacre that debases humanity

There's a bloodthirsty criminal on the loose

It is necessary to stop the wild beast

Brutal war exterminates old and children, lords and ladies

Boys and girls deprived of their dreams and loves

Brutal war humiliates the planet

The butcher of Moscow sows hate to reap death

Its war tanks turn Ukraine's fertile fields into oceans of blood

Blood of innocents

Blood of the archangels who dared to sow wheat and flowers

Blood of the archangels who dared to worship peace and democracy

Life asks for passage

Love demands passage

It is imperative to stop the butcher of Moscow
